Welcome to Mrs. Beagley’s combined fourth and fifth grade class from Cape Town in South Africa. This is a very exciting class to be in. This blog has been created by Mrs Beal, the computer teacher, for Mrs Beagley’s class.
These are the different moods of Grade 4&5B.
Every day is a new adventure in our class. The curriculum in South Africa has eight learning areas, and we do those every week. They are Languages, Mathematics, Life Orientation, Social Studies, Natural Science, Economic and Management Sciences, Technology and Arts and Culture. We also have music, computer classes and library education every week. We work on many projects which often integrate the learning areas. Our class goes on so many outings because our teacher believes that the best education takes place out of the classroom. We especially love our computer lessons.
Here we are! This is our class. We are busy making thankyou cards after seeing an amazing bird show at the school. (We have just learned to make these slideshows so you will find them everywhere in our blogs!)
This is our class practising our ‘Proudly South African’ song in the computer room, just before singing it to the Juniors in the hall. They are wearing blue overalls just to look colourful.

Dear grade 4/5
I am an ex-pat who is now living in London, Ontario, Canada. In fact, I was born in Cape Town. I was so happy to find your blog through edublogs and I will definitely add your class blog to my class’s blog roll. I just started blogging with my grade 7/8 class and they absolutely love it. I am hopeful that we may be able to connect more frequently. Keep up the good work! My class blog can be found at http://millwardb.edublogs.org
